Surrey Old Boys Hockey Club

Next Easter the Surrey Old Boys will be going on their inaugural international tour. We will be taking part in the 28th Strawberries Hockey Festival in Driehuis, Holland. The tour will take place over the Bank Holiday (10th -13th April 09).

This weekend saw the varsity play host to the SOB Race Night. The night kicked off in noisey fashion as the first 8 horses battled it out over the turf at Ascot. Immediately the natural competitive streak between the club members came to the for and side betting took hold. Right from the off big fines, oops i mean winnings, were paid out as Malibu's horse failed to jump the hurdle and sent the rider (and Mailbu) sprawling on the floor!

The second social of the year can now be announced.......(drum roll)......

With the new season less than a month away its time to announce the first social of the year. It will take place on the first day that both teams take to the field.

As is the custom, we shall be welcoming in the new season with the annual pilgrimage to honour the achievements of our forefathers. Thus, the committee would like to invite you to join us as we follow the ancient route through the Wey Valley that the founding members navigated all those years ago. We will show ourselves to be worthy to wear the crest of the SOBs by facing the challenges that they overcame along this treacherous journey.
